Makeover Magic!

Meet Natasha Billings…the lucky winner of a Trade Me
Top to Toe Makeover with Samantha Hannah and Blue Cactus!

Before

After

It's something that most of us would only dream about!  A personal stylist and colour consultant to tell you what colours and style suits you best, then continue to buy most of the clothes in your shop of choice (worth a tidy $3000, of course!). A day at Blue Cactus Hairdressing being completely made over by our 'watch this space' Executive Stylist - Corinne Goffriller, who will select THE perfect colour and style just for you!  This, and more - all in a days work!  For Natasha Billing this dream was turned to reality on the 18 th of January 2011.

Having won this amazing prize after entering a Trade Me competition, Natasha was flown all the way up from Christchurch. After a thorough consultation, Corinne and Natasha agreed on a complete hair overhaul that was sure to make an impact!  First stop: Colour. Selecting a golden caramel all over colour, Corinne added texture and dimension by infusing some sun kissed warmth through the ends - this gave a lovely summer sparkle to the hair, and warmth to Natasha's complexion. Cut!  Having grown her hair for far too long, it was time to transform those locks to glamorous make-over material.. and as always Corinne didn't fail to WOW.  Natasha’s long hair was stylishly cropped to a graduated shoulder length bob. A sultry, sweepy fringe was added to soften the structured cut, and lots of personalizing to give it the X factor.. a perfect shape, to complement a delicious colour.

Not only was Natasha treated like a celeb - she looked just the part as she floated out of our Salon and into the shops for more make over magic! An outstanding conclusion, with huge complements to Samantha Hannah who always knows how to spice up anyone’s wardrobe, and Corinne Goffriller from Blue Cactus Hairdressing - with her eye for detail, and flair for fashion, this was a sure recipe for success!

Thank you to all our clients, we have raised $400.00 which means 80 Beads of Courage will be gifted to these brave kids!

" Bald for a Cause "

We would like to acknowledge the VERY brave Kellie and Lisa who showed their Support for their friend Ngaire on Thursday 14th October 2010.

Ngaire was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 weeks before her first baby was due to be born.

All 3 had their hair shaved off!!!  We SO admire you - and our thoughts are with Everyone who has ever been through or been affected by cancer.

Click here if you too would like to support this cause...

I just wanted to touch base and say how wonderful everyone at blue cactus was this morning.  We all felt very welcome and looked after, and Ngaire is feeling so much happier now that she doesn't have to deal with her hair falling out in big clumps.

Right from the get-go you have been so helpful and accommodating ... thank you so much.

Kind regards
Kellie

'Men in the City'

It has already been a year since the 'Men in the City' charity event that raised over 10,000 last year for Autism Intervention Trust  not to mention one of the couples matched by chance are still together.

Last year Blue Cactus generously helped by donating hair treatments for the silent auction portion. This year as well we've donated pampering vouchers for prizes.

The event was held on the 6th of November benefiting Endometriosis NZ this time around.

Dear Blue Cactus Crew

Thanks once again for your contribution and support of 'Men in the City' for Endometriosis NZ 2010.  In only its 2nd year it was another success for all with 250 in attendance.  I hope as the event continues to grow you will be keen to stay involved.

Many thanks,

Fashion for Research...

The red carpet was down and the lights were shining bright. 29th March saw a wonderful evening of around 190 people converge on the Australian high commission in Wellington to be a part of the magical charity fashion show.

12 models each with12 changes created a hype of activity back stage. Blue Cactus prepared the hair in the salon, creating full volume red carpet hairstyles. Working with a small round brush Corinne and Kerri worked on creating lots of root lift and stunning movement. During the show as the evening progressed these two amazing stylists worked the long hair into quirky side ponytails and making sure the hair was kept looking perfect after each clothes change ready to hit the red carpet again.

It was a truly wonderful evening. Congratulations Malaghan trust.
