How do you travel to work and back?
A. Always Drive - 1 person in my huge gas guzzler.
B. Carpool, Bus or Train.
C. Walk, bike, scooter or Skip.
2. How many of your house lights and appliances are energy-efficient or Energy Star rated?
A. What the heck are energy ratings? I have no idea!
B. Sometimes I remember to buy the more energy efficient options.
C. I actively choose to purchase energy efficient appliances and lights –saves on my power bill too!
3. How often do you drink plastic-bottled water? What do you do with the bottle afterwards?
A. I buy a new bottle every time, throw the old one in the bin!
B. I sometimes buy bottled water but always re-use the bottle.
C. I use a glass/steel bottle and never buy throw away plastics.
4. Do you use non-ammonia colour such as L'Oreal's 'INOA' when you get your hair coloured?
A. Ummm – no? …
B. Sometimes I do.
C. Always! I am an 'ammonia-free' colour convert! – Thanks Blue Cactus.
5. Do you use and/or purchase eco-friendly and vegan hair-care products such as 'Pureology'?
A. Never. Being 'pure' never suited me much anyway... I just get whatever’s on special!
B. Sometimes - my hairdresser has mentioned it?
C. Always. They don't test on animals either - bonus!
6. Do you take your own re-cycled grocery bags with you to the supermarket?
A. Nope. My groceries get packed into supermarket provided plastic bags. Sometimes I pay them 10c for the luxury.
B. I do use the plastic bags, but I put them in the re-cycling bin afterwards.
C. I take my own fashionable Trellise Cooper grocery bag found at www.trelisecooper.com
7. When you dry your hair and your clothes, do you use:
A. A high voltage hairdryer. It is hot - but it does the trick. Clothes go straight into the clothes dryer.
B. An Eco-Friendly hairdryer such as the Parlux 3800 I got at Blue Cactus...
Then I usually hang my towels on the clothes horse, or on the line - if we ever have any sunshine!
C. I towel dry my hair and hang ALL my clothes on the line.
8. Do you know about or consider buying your fashion labels from sustainable/eco-friendly stores and brands?
A. Never. I only buy cheaply produced international brands! What you don't know can't hurt you, right?
B. Sometimes - when I see something I like!
C. Always - I like shops like www.starfish.co.nz, www.recycleboutique.co.nz and www.treehugger.com.
9. How often do you choose cleaning products from sustainable/eco-friendly brands, complete with biodegradable packaging?
A. Never - they exist?
B. Sometimes… when I see them on special.
C. Absolutely. They smell better, feel better, and do a good job! I often buy from www.ecostore.co.nz
10. How regularly do you commit to recycling all your household plastics, cans, and paper/cardboard rather putting them in the standard rubbish?
A. I never bother. I heard it all ends up at the tip anyway.
B. I re-cycle plastic and glass with the Wellington City Council.
C. I 'wash and squash' all plastic items, separate all glass, and ensure all paper is out the night before recycling day!
