Despite this past year being terribly difficult, financially and emotionally, Anna has done her best to remain positive and upbeat. She is always putting others before herself and is one of the most selfless people I know. A good friend dropped off a bag of second hand clothing last year and I remember Anna being SO excited because her friend was a similar size and most of these "new" clothes were going to fit her. I've seen her be as frugal and economic as possible, still making sure that nieces or nephews got birthday and christmas presents, while she continued to go without.
Trust me, I've seen her current underwear drawer, this girl needs some decent smalls people! She's not putting up with them because she loves them you know! Given half the chance I know there'd be a major sacrificial burning to end their existence if she didn't need the damn things.
On a personal level, she has constantly dropped me off and picked me up at the Airport over the years (even collecting me at midnight when the plane was delayed!) In December I had surgery (twice) and she was instrumental in my recovery with her support; rushing around getting medication, dropping me off and visiting/collecting me from hospital, making me the BEST chicken soup ever! Making sure I was always comfortable and that I had whatever I needed. During that time she made 11 Christmas cakes to give friends and people in the community...ELEVEN!
I cannot begin to tell you all the things this lady has done for me over the years. I cannot begin to tell you how much she has enriched my life and those of my children. And I cannot put into words the depth of gratitude, appreciation and pride I feel for her. I can however tell you how much I truly believe she deserves to be showered with goodness and beautiful things. Anna is a loving and devoted wife and mother, she is a loyal and generous friend and I struggle to find ways to thank her for everything she's done and continues to do for us.
Over the last 12 months she seems to have lost some of her shine. Certainly now with hubby away in the army, the twinkle in her eye has dimmed somewhat. She can mow lawns, paint walls, hammer nails and check out a car's engine better than many men I know but at heart she is a girlie girl through and through. She loves having her hair done, loves shopping, adores all things new and beautiful...she just hasn't had the means or opportunity to do any of those things for such a long time.
Anna Peka so totally deserves to be pampered and you will not be disappointed with the result. Please help me put the flash and dazzle back into this beautiful lady's spirit.

Please tell us in a few words why your nominee deserves to win the Blue Cactus Hairdressing Ultimate Makeover: Anna deserves this and Anna should win this!! I can't think of a more deserving person than Anna. Over the past two years Anna personally and her family have been affected by life circumstances that haven't always shone in their favour. After Anna & her husband Jason gave birth to their 2nd baby girl last year; be it the ultimate blessing - the loss of their main income affected their financial situation considerably. With Jase not being employed and not recieving regular income through the various jobs he did to make ends meat 2009 especially was a tremultuous year for the Peka's; being emotionally and financially taxing literally. It is hard to see your friends go through such hard times and there is little you can offer except by the way of support and hope that will be a light at the end of the tunnel and most of all faith that the dark heavy grey rain clouds will lift.
